Die-sensitized Solar Cells (Film based Cells) struts its stuff in Solar Car Rally. Showing its Silicon comrades a thing or two, Taiyo Yuden Co Ltd’s Die-sensitized solar car participated in the "2008 World Solar-Car Rally” in Akita Japan from the 25-28th of July. This is the first time a die-sensitized solar cells, film-based ones in particular, were used in any large public event. Taiyo concedes that there is still much room for improvement and durability still remains a problem. While results were not ground breaking Taiyo Yuden still managed a respectable 5th place out of 9 in the Endurance event.More Here
