Enerv8 PowerTread : create power from Speed Bumps

NZ company Enerv8's PowerTread creates energy from cars driving over it.

The PowerTread is to be installed in series, in place of current speed bumps (aka "judder bar" in NZ speak!).

Like speed bumps, the device slow cars down, but transfers the kinetic energy to electricity - enough to power 18 homes or a small shopping mall - so they say.

With the help of investors in Singapore, the NZ company hopes to deploy PowerTread soon in a few shopping mall car parks in Singapore.
